Back to the Basics: ABC – All About Christ

At City of David Worship Assembly, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to discover who Jesus is in a fun, exciting, and life-changing way. That's why we're inviting children and families to join us for Journey to Jesus VBS 2026, a three-day adventure designed to help kids build a strong foundation in Christ while creating lasting memories and friendships.

This year's theme, "Back to the Basics: ABC – All About Christ," focuses on introducing children to the core truths of the Christian faith through engaging Bible lessons, interactive activities, worship, games, and meaningful fellowship. Throughout the week, children will embark on a spiritual journey that encourages them to know Jesus personally and understand His love for them.

Our Journey to Jesus

Children will explore the five key steps represented by the acronym R.E.S.E.T.

R – Restore
Learning how Jesus restores broken hearts, lives, and relationships through His grace and forgiveness.

E – Encounter
Experiencing God's presence through worship, prayer, and Bible-centered teaching.

S – Seek
Discovering how to seek God daily through His Word and develop a personal relationship with Him.

E – Experience
Growing in faith by experiencing God's love, hope, and power in everyday life.

T – Truth
Building a solid foundation on the truth of God's Word that will guide them throughout their lives.

A Place Where Everyone Belongs

At City of David, we are committed to creating an atmosphere where every child feels loved, valued, and accepted. Whether your child has attended church for years or is visiting for the first time, they will be welcomed into a community that encourages them to grow in faith and discover God's purpose for their life.

Transportation Available

Transportation assistance is available for families who may need help getting their children to and from VBS. Please contact us for additional details and availability.

Revival Night

The week will conclude with a special Revival Night Service, where families are invited to come together to celebrate what God has done throughout the week. This powerful evening will feature worship, ministry, and an opportunity for everyone to experience the love, hope, and power of Jesus.

Set Intentions & Reflect

Together, we pause to consider our goals, hopes, and direction. This is about aligning with ourselves and with the journey ahead. This is a chance to reconnect with what brought you here—your questions, your hopes, your turning points—and consider how they’ve shifted or deepened.

How It Works

  • Browse our upcoming events to find the one that feels right for you. We host events year-round in all different locations and climates.

  • Sign up and pay all required fees to reserve your spot. If plans change, you can cancel up to 14 days before the retreat start to receive a 50% refund.

  • After booking, we'll send you a Welcome Packet with everything you need to know—detailed schedules, packing list recommendations, add-ons to consider, and more.

  • We'd recommend booking your transportation to and from the event as soon as possible, to ensure you can arrive without any complications or delays.

  • Now all that's left to do is pack your bags and get excited for your new adventure.
